Department of Social Services and Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme Senator the Hon Linda Reynolds CSC has launched a national workforce attraction campaign A Life Changing Life.
The campaign aims to attract more than one million people to join the care and support sector – and 83,000 NDIS workers alone – as part of Australia’s Care and Support Workforce Package, announced in the Federal 2020-21 Budget.
The campaign was launched jointly with Minister Reynolds and:
- Minister for Health and Aged Care the Hon Greg Hunt MP
- Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care Services, Minister for Sport, Senator for Tasmania Senator the Hon Richard Colbek
- Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Minister for Defence Personnel The Hon Andrew Gee MP
The campaign draws on social research, shares employee stories and has campaign resources (media content, broadcast commercial and advertisements) which is available for organisations to support the rollout of messaging.
In a joint-media release to announce the campaign Minister Reynolds said: “For people looking for a life-changing life through a rewarding job or career, the care and support sector is now hiring.”
Minister Hunt said: “By 2050, Australia will need the services of around one million aged care workers. This campaign will help to grow a strong and sustainable workforce that supports senior Australians as they age”
