The Team behind WorkAbility is growing!
Project Officers Alana Sinnamon and Lisa Steele have recently joined the team. Employed by National Disability Services (NDS) they bring great knowledge, enthusiasm, and connections from across the community services sector.
Alana and Lisa will be working on programs led by NDS as part of the Workability Consortium, such as NDIS Job Roadshows and Vet in Schools (VETis) that aim to build employment pathways in the NDIS industry.
Alana Sinnamon, Senior Sector Development Officer, NDS
Alana Sinnamon has 16 years’ experience in the education, employment, and social services sector, specialising in social innovative project management. She spent three years with Education Queensland developing the Bundaberg Regional Youth Hub, a collaboration of industry, education, and community.
Prior to joining NDS, Alana was with CQUniversity as a Project Coordinator / Researcher and was involved on the NDIS Workforce Project as well as Research Centre Business Administrator, coordinating a research centre within the university.
Alana will be leading the VETis (VET in Schools) component of the NTSSS Growing the NDIS Workforce Strategy.
Lisa Steele, Senior Sector Development Officer, NDS
Over the past twenty years Lisa has worked in leadership roles in the disability and advocacy sectors, delivering outcomes for students, consumers, participants and their families, both locally and nationally.
In 2000 Lisa began her career in the disability sector, managing a Disability Employment Service for the CPL (Mylestones Employment).
Lisa is committed to developing innovative programs and has been instrumental in delivering several major events and pilot programs across Queensland.
Lisa will be leading the Jobs Roadshows component of the NTSSS Growing the NDIS Workforce Strategy.
