Employers who take on a trainee with a disability may be able to receive assistance through the Disabled Australian Apprentice Wage Support (DAAWS). Assistance may be in the form of wage support and/or funding for workplace modifications. Funding is also available for trainees with a disability who may need extra support, including mentoring, interpreter services and/or tutorial assistance.

For more information on DAAWS, including eligibility criteria, contact an Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) provider. You can search for a provider here: https://www.australianapprenticeships.gov.au
