WorkAbility Qld has commenced a new Common Induction pilot program targeted at the NDIS workforce and which may benefit the broader community services industry.
The Common Induction for NDIS Workforce Pilot, funded by Department of Education Small Business and Training (DESBT), will be delivered with selected partners and providers in Far North Queensland and South East Queensland.
The program aims to create a shorter learning opportunity for NDIS workers to meet Industry and organisational training requirements around a mandatory induction for new employees, and will incorporate priority industry skills, mandatory and common required elements of training.
The Common Induction credential will be industry endorsed, portable and responsive to industry workforce skilling priorities.
While the micro-credential is not a formal VET qualification it is anticipated it can be used to leverage opportunities for further upskilling and training that will lead to new VET pathways.
The Project Team will establish a stakeholder project advisory group to identify priority training elements for NDIS workforce inductions.
