Cairns and Far North Queensland has four exciting community initiatives taking place across the region over 2021/2022.

The NTSSS Team visited the region in March to meet with project partners as initiatives kicked off in February.

Fifteen Managers and Allied Health Professionals at Apunipuma Cape York Council will complete a TeleHealth Administration Skill Set to help make its NDIS services more accessible to people living in regional and remote communities across the Cape York Peninsula.

As one of the largest Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Organisations in Queensland a number of senior staff will also complete the Diploma of Leadership and Management to help  strengthen its workforce capacity.

Staff at Apunipima join three other ACCHOS including Carbul Medical Services (Toowoomba), Central Queensland Indigenous Development and Townsville Aboriginal Health Service.
