The NTSSS Foundation Skills initiative is an emerging program developed in partnership with by TAFE Queensland that supports building the foundation skills of students and new and existing NDIS workers.
Project Aim
The project aims to ensure the high standard and accuracy of reports, case notes and other work place tasks to support people to complete these at a determined sector level.
The program consults with disability providers to identify key sector needs, reflect diversity, and hosts a broad range of presenters with materials contextualised for delivery.
Delivery of the program will take place over two phases:
Phase 1: Support to new and existing NDIS workers across four sites will be provided to ensure their foundational skills in understanding and ensuring accuracy of documents and tasks carried out in their role.
Phase 2: A suite of resources will be developed for use by VET practitioners and RTOs, in additions to a professional development program to enable them to gain the teaching unit CHCLLN001 Respond to client language, literacy and numeracy needs.
