Is there a Yellowstone Season 6?

There won’t be a Yellowstone Season 6.

The Paramount Network renewed Yellowstone for a fifth and final season split into two installments. Episode one aired in November 2022 and the eighth episode aired in January 2023.

Paramount Network most likely planned for a Summer-Fall release for the remaining six episodes. However, the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike might have affected those plans. SAG-AFTRA is close to reaching an agreement that would put an end to the strike.

Yellowstone’s abrupt ending is a surprise, especially considering the massive success of the show. The show spawned two equally successful spinoffs, 1883 and 1923.

Three more spinoffs are in development. 6666, set on the Four Sixes Ranch in Texas which is featured in Yellowstone. 1944, a sequel to 1923. The untitled sequel to Yellowstone is in development with Matthew McConaughey in talks to play the leading role.

According to some rumors, creative differences between Costner and Sheridan caused the ending of Yellowstone. The lead actor and creator were rumored to have gotten into an argument about the show’s direction.

Sadly, Yellowstone is coming to an end but there are plenty more stories to explore in this universe. 1923 will have a second season, which is expected to resume production once the strike is over.
