As the country emerges from COVID-19, demand for skilled workers in human services care occupations is expected to increase by more than 100,000 employees in the next five years.

In response to the pandemic, the Department of Education Skills and Employment (DESE) and Human Services Skills Organisation (HSSO) has developed a new Entry into Care Roles skill set.

This skill set aims to provide job seekers with entry level skills for faster entry into the sector.

The skill set has three competencies and has been developed as a pathway skill set that leads directly into the Certificate III in Individual Support for people to undertake further training in the future.

The skill set is currently being offered to Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to deliver and is available for enrolment at https://www.employment.gov.au/entry-care-roles-skill-set
