50+ Easy Toddler Activities (2023)
Toddlerhood. That magical age where your little one discovers the joy of shouting “NO!” and suddenly turns into a mini tornado of energy. Your heart swells with pride as they take on new milestones, but you also secretly yearn for just a few moments of calm amidst the chaos. Trust me; I’ve been there. The sofa’s turned into a trampoline, there’s a cereal storm in the kitchen, and you can’t remember the last time you had a peaceful cup of coffee.
Fear not, beleaguered parents and caregivers! I’ve got your back. Enter the world of super easy toddler activities that require minimum prep and promise maximum fun. We’re talking activities so simple you might be left wondering, “Why didn’t I think of that?” Well, that’s what I’m here for!
The No-Stress Prep Principle
Look, I get it. The last thing you need is a complicated setup with 50 different materials when you’re already juggling a zillion things. That’s why this list is all about low-effort, high-reward fun.
Skills They’ll Sharpen
Every one of these activities is more than just play; it’s a learning opportunity. Here’s a sneak peek into some skills your toddler will develop:
- Cognitive Development: Activities like sorting, matching, or simple puzzles challenge their brains.
- Fine and Gross Motor Skills: From pinching to jumping, they’ll be refining those muscle movements.
- Creativity and Imagination: Every game is a canvas for them to paint their stories.
Golden Tips for Success
- Stay Flexible: If an activity isn’t a hit today, it might be tomorrow. Kiddos’ moods and interests can change like the wind!
- Safety First: Always ensure activities are age-appropriate and avoid small parts for little ones who still like to explore with their mouths.
- Join In: Sometimes, your involvement can spark their interest. Plus, it’s more fun together!
So, the next time your little bundle of joy (and energy) has you on the brink, just pull up this list. With these super easy toddler activities in your arsenal, you’re well on your way to turning “Oh no, not again!” moments into “Wow, they’re actually entertained!” times. Here’s to more joyful moments and fewer toddler-induced headaches!

TV Show: Curious Crafting
I’m so excited to share my crafting TV show Curious Crafting which launched in July 2022 on TVOkids and TVOkids YouTube! Season 2 aired in August 2023! My show was also nominated in 2023 for Best Live Action Preschool Series by the Youth Media Alliance Awards of Excellence.
Curious Crafting Season 1 is also now airing in Australia on ABC! Watch it here!
Set in the ultimate crafting space, Curious Crafting is a short form pre-school age series about the joy of making crafts. I lead a rotating cast of adorable little preschoolers (including my own) making magic out of common household objects.
In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.
Curious Crafting shares the adventure and joy of making art with takeaway lessons for creating crafts at home.
This show designed for toddlers and preschoolers 2.5 years old and up.
