TOOWOOMBA EXPO SHOWCASES CAREERS IN DISABILITY
WorkAbility Qld held the second Careers in Disability Expo on Friday 15 September 2017 in Toowoomba to promote the vast array of careers available in the disability sector.
The expo attracted over 200 people looking to upskill, change careers or learn more about the disability sector and to find out how they can apply for hundreds of jobs available under the NDIS.
Attendees had the opportunity to meet 31 exhibitors, including prospective employers, disability service providers, training and education providers and job actives, to get practical advice about careers and pathway planning.
Guest speakers, including service providers, people with disability and education and training providers, shared their insights and experience with attendees during free information sessions held throughout the day.
Some feedback from our exhibitors:
“Wow what an amazing day”.
“Genuine sector interest from attendees, the right audience definitely attended, well done”
“Several of our job seekers filled out applications for employment”
“Outstanding networking opportunities with service providers”
WorkAbility Qld would like to thank the South West Queensland local working group, the exhibitors and guest speakers for their participation on the day.
The next Careers in Disability Expo will be held in Ipswich on Wednesday 15 November 2017. More information on this expo will be available soon.
