NDIS Regional Workforce Research Findings: Townsville and Mackay
NDIS employers, employees and sole providers came together in Mackay and Townsville in August to provide valuable feedback on the research findings from the NDIS Workforce Research Project.
The need to increase the existing workforce, combined with changes to the way the Community Services Industry operates in a competitive NDIS environment, requires transformative action.
The research seeks to understand how the existing and emerging workforce is forming and performing, the impact on labour markets and anticipating the skills needed under the NDIS rollout.
CQUniversity Professor Denise Wood AM and CSIRO/Data61 Dr Claire Mason presented findings from the research and to date and potential local solutions specific to the Townsville and Mackay regions.
Industry provided feedback on the presented findings and the Funding Support for Training in NDIS-Related Occupations in Queensland document which will be available soon.
Through group discussions, Industry worked together to identify opportunities at a local level to develop the NDIS workforce.
If you work for an organisation that is an NDIS provider your feedback is critical for the future of the NDIS workforce. Complete one of these surveys today to inform NDIS workforce research.
