Gympie Forum: Employers connect as the NDIS rolls out
WorkAbility Queensland were invited to a forum in Gympie to speak about the myriad of employment opportunities the NDIS is bringing to the region. Several organisations, including Mable (pictured), joined us at a forum in Gympie on 14 March to speak about their services, what they do, what’s important to them, and the types of people they are looking for to meet the growing demand for services.
The people who came along were engaged and excited about the possibilities, the range of roles, the flexibility and the support provided by training and employment programs that were showcased. Many people were curious about self-employment opportunities and excited by the prospect of choice and control – not only for people with a disability but for the workforce as well.
Thanks to Adam and the team at North Coast Region, Department of Employment, Small Business and Training for inviting us. WorkAbility Queensland are looking forward to engaging more with students, service providers and the potential workforce at Gympie over the coming months.
