Employee Referrals

Referrals from current employees and organisational partners are a great way to find quality candidates. Referred candidates often have a higher success rate than candidates responding to jobs boards or other ads. In order to encourage successful referrals you might want to:

  • Be specific with your staff about what you are looking for.
  • Equip staff with tools to make referrals – information about the role and desired type of candidate will be useful, as will giving each staff member the business card or contact details of the person responsible for recruitment.
  • Offer rewards for successful finds – this could be as simple as a box of chocolates and provides an incentive to staff to be on the lookout!
