Coolangatta Jobs Roadshow leads to more than 280 interviews
Students and interested job seekers attended a bumper roadshow in Coolangatta on 26 March, delivered by WorkAbility Queensland and partners from TAFE Queensland and Southern Cross University.
Representatives from Mylestones, Edmen, Feros Care, Centacare, Real Community Services, Hireup, CPL and Workforce Link were on site to present their pitch to interested job seekers – a quick rundown of their organisations values, vacancies, and what they are looking for in each candidate. Employers reported having 156 job vacancies in the region, and they were there to fill them.
The eight employers conducted 289 speed interviews with 58 pre-screened candidates. Each candidate sat through five speed interviews during the event, and will have an average of three “second contacts” with employers – in this case, 164 second contacts were made.
WorkAbility Queensland Jobs Roadshows provide a fantastic networking opportunity for employers and partners, providing a real platform to fill vacancies. To find out more or get involved in an upcoming event in your region, visit our Events page.
