A creative edge shines around Maryborough on Life Choice Community Day
The third Life Choice Community Day was held at Portside Precinct Parklands in Maryborough during Disability Action Week in September. Fostering community connection and inclusiveness, the event provided a great opportunity to talk to members of the public about the value of careers in the disability sector.
To show-off the qualities of the disability workforce, visitors to the WorkAbility Qld stand were asked to take part in a fun hands-on activity. Each visitor had to portray their ideal support worker and add it to a growing display.
Some concentrated simply on the values and attributes for their cut-out silhouette, while other creative members of the public seized the opportunity to construct colourful mini masterpieces.
People highlighted a broad range of ideal attributes including empathy, open-mindedness, dedication, patience, an adventurous or fun spirit, and being a good listener.
